Luchterhand, Alvin (13 JUL 1901 - 4 SEP 1984)


Alvin Luchterhand, 83, 402 Thomas in Loyal, Clark County, was found dead Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 4, 1984, at his apartment.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. Joseph R. Kraly officiated the service. Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Luchterhand was born July 13, 1901, in Clark County to Frank and Alvina (nee Wehling) Luchterhand. He received his education at Spokeville Schools.

He was married Sept. 1, 1920 at Loyal to Laura Beier. She died in 1951 . He was married a second time in 1960 to Ruth Schaefer, she died in 1972.

He farmed all of his life in the Town of Loyal and retired in 1972. He then moved to the City of Loyal.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Loyal Town Board for many years.

He is preceded in death by one son, Gerald one great-grandchild and his parents.

He is survived by three sons, Robert and Orville of Granton and Melvin of Loyal one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Doreen) Schmidtke of Odeboldt, Iowa one brother, William of Marshfield two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Herdrich, and Mrs. Edward (Lizzie) Greeler of Neillsville 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

His grandsons, Kenneth, Thomas, Lynn, Michael, Dale and Gary were pallbearers.
