Tanner, Vera (10 DEC 1894 - 10 APR 1984)


Mrs. Vera Tanner, 89, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, died Tuesday evening, April 10, 1984, at Memorial Home, Neillsville.

Services for Mrs. Tanner were at 12 noon, Friday, April 13, 1984, at St. Mary's catholic Church, Greenwood. Officiating was Rev. Michael Mertens. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Vera Szymanski was born on Dec. 10, 1894, at Chicago, Ill. She received her education at Chicago Schools.

She and Charles Malinowski were married on July 4, 1914. He died in 1934. Her second marriage was to Godfrey Tanner in 1948. He died in 1948.

She lived in Chicago until 1939, then moved to the Town of Warner. She later went back to Chicago, then in 1973 moved back to Greenwood. For the past seven years, she has been residing at the Neillsville Home.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Dolores) Thomas of Greenwood four sons, Edward Malinowski of Loyal, Richard Malinowski of Mount Shasta, Cal., Robert Malinowski of Villa Park, Ill. and Alfred Malinowski of St. Charles, Ill. one brother, Andrew Szymanski of Arizona two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Adams of Arizona and Mrs. Gladys Esperato of Florida and 16 grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were one son and four sisters.

An 8 p.m. Prayer Service was conducted on Thursday. Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
