Westbay, Anna Marie (10 NOV 1901 - 19 JAN 1985)


Mrs. Anna Marie Westbay died Jan. 19, 1985 at the home of her daughter, Pauline Slingerland, Garland, Texas. Mrs. Westbay was born Nov. 10, 1901 to August and Mary Vitoux in Wolcott, Ind.

On Nov. 11, 1919 she married Philenus Westbay at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Valparaiso, Ind.

The family moved to a farm north of Greenwood in 1959. At this time she became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1969. Mr. Westbay died on Jan. 14, 1971 and since then Mrs. Westbay has resided in the city of Greenwood.

She left 95 living descendants.

Surviving are one son, Philenus Westbay Jr. of Garland, Texas, Edna Evert, Valparaiso, Ind., Anna Stratton and Irene Carlberg, Greenwood 33 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Westbay's funeral was officiated by Father O'Connell at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, Texas. Burial took place in Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. (She is actually buried in the Greenwood, Wis. City Cemetery)
