Leach, Edna L (1888 - 1983)


Mrs. Ira (Edna L.) Leach, 94, of 5283 Third Ave., Pittsville, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, May 7, 1983, at her home.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 1983, at the United Methodist Church, Neillsville. Officiating was Rev. Howard Ott. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, handled arrangements.

Edna L. Pauley was born on Oct. 18, 1888, in Shamrock to John and Lucy (nee Pratt) Pauley. She received her education in the Alma Center area and was a dressmaker there, and later in Loyal.

She and Ira Leach were married in Neillsville on June 21, 1910. After their marriage, they operated a meat market in Greenwood, Clark County, for several years. They also farmed in the Globe area for a short time before retiring in Neillsville in 1947. She lived there until 1971, when she moved to Willard, where she lived until Nov. 1981. She then moved to Pittsville.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church Women's Society, Neillsville.

Surviving her are one son, Almond Leach of Victor, Mont. four daughters, Mrs. Rudolph (Bethel) Volk of Willard Mrs. Fred (Lucy) Gosse of Pittsville, Mrs. Robert (Juaunieta) Roder of Owen and Mrs. Eric (Coralie) Hoffman of Eden 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Ira, on Feb. 7, 1956 her parents one son, John and two sisters.
