COULTHARD (Neal G) 1921 - 2001

Neal G. COULTHARD, 79, of Town of Sherwood, Pittsville, died Tuesday January 16, 2001 at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the United Church of Christ in Pittsville. Memorial services will be held at 11am Thursday at the church.

Buchanan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Neal G COULTHARD, 79, of Sherwood Road, Pittsville, died Tuesday January 16, 2001 at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.

A memorial service was held Thursday January 18 at United Church of Christ, Pittsville, with Rev Nancy CARR and Rev Olaf ANDERSON officiating. Music was provided by organist Betty Capling and soloist Mary Garrels. Military rites were conducted by Palmer-Ritchie-Thomas Post 153 American Legion of Pittsville. Burial was in the Sherwood Cemetery, Town of Sherwood. Visitation was held at Buchanan Funeral Home Wednesday evening.

Neal was born April 23, 1921 in Sherwood to John and Josephine (HILL) COULTHARD. He was educated in the Town of Sherwood. Neal was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Fleet from 1942-45. He married Eleanor BARTER April 9, 1945 at the Methodist Parsonage in Hoquiam, WA. He was a dairy farmer in the Town of Sherwood and a union carpenter until retirement. he was a member of the United Church of Christ, Pittsville American Legion Post 153 of Pittsville, and served as supervisor/chairman of the Town of Sherwood. Neal enjoyed his farm pond, fishing, hunting and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, of Pittsville, one son, Bill (Pat) COULTHARD of Pittsville three dauhters, Carol (Andy) CEGIELSKI of Arpin, Judy (Ed) BRAUN of Madison, and Shirley (Herb) JEPSON of Pittsville three brothers, Milo COULTHARD of Darlington, Lee (Hazel) COULTHARD of Wisconsin Rapids, and Grant (Charlyn) COULTHARD of Marshfield one sister, Virgie CEDERBLAD of Coal Valley, IL 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters and one great-grandchild.
