Quast, Frederick E. (14 March 1907 - 8 January 1983)

NEILLSVILLE - Frederick E. Quast, 75, Route 1, Neillsville, was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital shortly before noon Saturday of an apparent heart attack.

Services will be Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Norman W. Lindoff will officiate and burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Franklin Zickert, Donald Meihak, Wayne, Mike and Bill Meier and John Quast.Visitation will be at Gesche Funeral home, Neillsville and at the church.

He was born March 14 1907 in the Town of Seif, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Anna Steinberg) Quast and was educated there.

He and Dorothy Meier were married April 24, 1935 at Neillsville. He engaged in farming in the Town of Seif until 1966 when he began employment with Wedges Creek Research Farm, Town of Seif, until retiring in 1972.

He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Richard of Neillsville and Robert of Sparta; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Gray of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Martha Belter of Eau Claire; one brother, Martin Quast of West Allis; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
