Monday Doctors Jenson and Christofferson reported three cases of diphtheria in the Town of Hull (Marathon Co.), one at Andrew Arends, one at Paul Firnstahl’s, and the other at Bernard Klumplan’s. The three homes were immediately quarantined and every precaution taken to keep the disease from spreading. The two last named families live in this school district and the children have been going to school. Mayor Lyons took immediate steps to have the schools and churches closed and all public entertainment cancelled until further notice.

This morning Health Officer A. B. Jenson quarantined three homes in the city, Joseph Will, Fred Riplinger, and Charles Lintner. The cases in each of these families are reported of a mild nature.

Every person in the city and adjoining towns should use ever y endeavor to prevent the spread of this disease. Fumigate your place of business and your homes. Let us all work together and if possible prevent a siege as Wausau, Edgar, Athens and other neighboring places have gone through. The disease has only just got started and now is the time to nip it in the bud. (Colby Phonograph)
