Pfunder, John (? – 27 DEC 1910)
On the 27th of December 1910 John Pfunder, who had been a public charge on the
village of Abbotsford and also the county, died at the county poor farm. Among
his effects were some old receipts indicating that he had made some payments in
an insurance company known as Unterstutzung Gesellschaft, Germania. County Judge
Schoengarth followed up the clue and got the policy from the agency in
Marshfield and will recover more than enough thereon to reimburse the county and
Abbotsford for expenses in the matter. As the man apparently has no heirs, the
balance of the policy will go to the state. (Clark Co., Republican & Press)
