The Neillsville Kiwanis Club has announced its tradition of honoring local
senior students by naming a Junior Kiwanian for each month of the school year.
Jayda Harris, daughter of John and Tris Harris, was named Junior Kiwanian for
October and was introduced to club members at the Oct. 12 meeting.
Harris is a member of the National Honor Society and has achieved straight “A”
honor roll throughout high school and currently serves as class president. In
addition, she has been a part of student council each year and is this year’s
president. Harris’ other activities include Spanish Club, show choir and FFA, in
which she serves as vice president.
Harris’ volunteer work includes helping at the Clark County Fair and with
clothing drives. She has assisted at the Clark County Area Food Pantry and
Resource Center and recently started providing statistical support for its
record-keeping.
In addition, Harris has been employed at Sniteman Pharmacy for the past three
years as a clerk, and as a technician through the youth Apprenticeship Program.
Following graduation in the spring, Harris plans to attend UW-Stevens Point. She
has not yet decided on a major.
“The Neillsville club is pleased to highlight talented and ambitious individuals
like Jayda Harris,” Kiwanian Brent Shoup wrote in a press release. “We wish her
continued success as she pursues her further education and career.”
