D. J. ETSELL, hardware, Colby, was born in Province of Ontario, Canada, Feb. 2, 1850. His parents lived on a farm, and he engaged in that work until 1878, when he came to Colby, and located on the Marathon side of the village (eventually a part of Clark Co.). He opened his hardware store January, 1879, and the same year bought a farm of 160 acres. In 1877, he married Miss Rosa Sage, of Milwaukee, a niece of Peter Engleman, founder of the English and German Academy of Milwaukee. Mr. Etsell is a member of the Good Templars. He does a business of $12,000 a year.
