 Danielewicz, Zigmund (6 JAN 1917 - 21 APR 2000)

Zigmund Danielewicz, 83, Thorp died Friday, April 21, 2000, 6:56 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Zigmund was born January 6, 1917 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Katherine (Wozniak) Danielewicz. He married Manetta Haas, March 4, 1946 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thorp. He farmed in the Town of Mead until 1956 when he moved to Thorp. He was a section worker for The Soo Line Railroad for 30 years (1951-1981), when he retired. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theatre.

Surviving are his wife Manetta Danielewicz of Thorp; three sons: Donnie (Pam) of Thorp, Dick of Schofield, Dale (Seliana) of Wausau; four daughters: Suzanne (Danial) Somsen of New Richmond, Melissa (Randall) Maltbey of Janesville, Janet (Charles) Schulz of Greenville, Debra Danielewicz of Wausau; 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons: Greg and Dennis, 1 daughter, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at St. Bernard's-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp with Rev. John Puerner officiating. Burial was in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Military Rites at the graveside were conducted by Thorp American Legion Post 118. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Monday with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary at Thorp Funeral Home.
