Brandt, Julia (17 December 1894 - 30 October 1967)

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Mrs. John C. (Julia) Brandt, 72, wife of Neillsville’s mayor, who died Monday at her home. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Brandt, the former Julia Hensel, was born December 17, 1894, in Wausau. She attended schools there and did catering work as a young lady. She was married to Mr. Brandt on April 14, 1919, in Milwaukee. They resided in Wausau and Sturgeon Bay for several years. The family moved to Neillsville in 1945, operating a grocery store for several years. She had been in ill health for the last three years.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Marian) Shenk of New Ulm, Minn.; two brothers, August Hensel of Wausau and William Hensel of Louisville, Ky.; and four grandchildren.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held last Thursday from St. John’s Evangelical Church for Mrs. John C. (Julia) Brandt, 72, of Neillsville, who (balance was missing from my copy).

Stan, on this one for Brandt, you apparently only caught the first few lines and the balance was missing!
