Frane, Carol J. (3 AUG 1963)

Miss Carol Jean Frane and Melvin N. Schneider exchanged marriage promises Saturday morning, Aug. 3, 1963, at 9 o'clock at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Raymond B. Schulz witnessed the double ring ceremony and sang the nuptial high mass.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Theodore Frane of Abbotsford and the late Mr. Frane. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Schneider of Colby.

Preceding the bride down the aisle were her three attendants, all dressed alike in aqua street length formals, featuring a lace bodice with bateau neckline. A cummerbund with front bow trim topped the fully gathered skirts. They wore matching crowns with aurora borealis trim and halo veils and carried cascade bouquets of white and aqua carnations.

Mrs. Clem Apfelbeck of Colby, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor; Miss Pat Frane of Abbotsford, another sister, and Miss Florence Schneider of Colby, a sister of the groom, were the bride's attendants.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her oldest brother, Charles Frane of Curtiss, appeared in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace with a jewel trimmed modified Sabrina neckline, basque waist and long sleeves. The full hoop skirt of lace over taffeta and nylon net ruffles featured a front panel and was detailed by all around tiers of lace and tulle edged with iridescent sequins. Aurora borealis held her fingertip veil of French illusion.. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white chrysanthemums.

Clem Apfelbeck of Colby was best man and Verland Schneider of Colby, a brother of the groom, and Dan Fischer of Unity, a friend of the groom, completed the wedding party.

Glen Frane of Abbotsford and George Schneider of Colby, brothers of the bridal couple, seated the guests at the church.

Mrs. Frane was attired in a blue lace dress and Mrs. Schneider had a blue print. Both mothers wore white accessories and had corsages of pink and white carnations.

Bouquets of gladioli were used in the church and home decorations and on the tables at the reception, all of them grown and supplied by Mrs. George Schneider, Sr.

Festivities of the wedding day included dinner at 12 o'clock for about 150 guests at St. Bernard's Church Hall, and a reception and supper for about 200 guests at the home of th ebride's mother. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Sportsmen's Park at Colby.

After the new Mr. and Mrs. Schneider return from their honeymoon trip to Michigan, they will live at Colby. The groom is employed at Rollahome at Marshfield. The bride is a 1963 graduate of the Dor-Abby High School.
