Witte, William A. (25 OCT 1875 - 29 JUL 1963)

Funeral services for William A. Witte, 87, of Marshfield, who died Monday, July 29, 1963 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D.C. Luhrsen, at Marshfield, were held at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jerome Wohlfeil officiated and burial was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Kenneth Schulz sang "In the Hour of Trial" and Nearer My God to Thee." He was accompanied by Mrs. Lawrence Priem.

Pallbearers were A.J. Kriplean, Frank Marquardt, Leonard Arends, Edward Strathman, Emil Martin, and John Reeves.

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kriplean, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Werner, Mr. and Mrs. John Kraunzuch and Karla Witte, of Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gueldner, Whitewater; Mrs. Dennis Witte, Rochester, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Delos Luhrsen and Robert, Mrs. Elmer Rapp, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Arends, Mrs. George Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Praschak, Mrs. R.H. Wink, Mrs. Greg Tasse and Miss Elnora Luepke, Marshfield; Mrs. Wanda Miller, Osseo; Mr. and Mrs. William Zarnke, Sr., Stratford; Ray Bosher, Altoona; Mrs. Carl Meinke, Norma Meinke, Unity; Mrs. Rita Kriplean, Stevens Point; Mrs. Jack Alexander, Medford; and many relatives and friends from the Colby area.
