Jahr, Clara B. (10 OCT 1917)

Mr. Ferdinand Reichert and Miss Clara B. Jahr were quietly married at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 10th, 1917, at the Mapleworks German Lutheran Parsonage, Rev. M. Hasz performing the ceremony. The happy pair were attended by the bride's brother, Edwin Jahr, and her close friend, Miss Bertha Barth. The bride was dressed in a handsome brown broadcloth suit with a brown Georgette crepe waist. She wore a large brown hat, and carried a bouquet of bridal roses. From the parsonage the bridal party entered an awaiting automobile and drove to Loyal where, at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Chas. Steuerwald, a bounteous wedding dinner, which was served at six o'clock, awaited them. The bride and groom continued on from Loyal the next day to Elroy where they are now visiting at her brother Wesley Jahr's, and from there they will go to Sheboygan for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cornelius, uncle and aunt to the groom.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Augusta Jahr, a most estimable young lady who is well qualified to fill the position she is by this marriage elected to take. The groom is one of Granton's most prosperous young businessmen. He has been successfully engaged in the jewelry business her for the past 5 years and is also a senior member of the firm, Reichert Bros. & Lowe, in the furniture and undertaking business. Both Mr. and Mrs. Reichert are well known young people of this village whose upright lives and happy manners have made them favorites with all. And we congratulate ourselves that this marriage sees these young people established in a home of their own, and residents of this village. They will soon return and take up residence in the groom's home here on Main Street, which he has already furnished and made ready for them. Edwin Jahr and Miss Barth autoed home after the wedding dinner at Loyal, Wednesday evening.
