Raminger, John L. (30 DEC 1949 - 2 DEC 2012)

Ret. TSGT John L. Raminger,USAF, 62, of Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.

John was born December 30, 1949, in Curtiss, Wisconsin, the son of John and Ida (Gayken) Raminger. John and his family moved to Greenwood, Wisconsin, at an early age. He graduated from high school in 1968. Following high school John entered the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. John served the rest of his military career in the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1987.

John is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Len) Knappenberger of South Bend, Indiana; and Amy Joy Raminger-Silbernagel of Escanaba; two sons, Steve (Kristi) Raminger of Wichita, Kansas; and Travis John Raminger of Green Bay, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and a brother, Dennis Bowen of Wausau, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family received friends on Friday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Military Honors presented at 10:45 by the Delta County Veterans Council. Memorial services celebrating John's life were at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating.
