Zank, Anna (1 July 1887 - 21 September 1967)

Funeral services were held Monday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Mrs. Anna Zank, 80, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died last Thursday at her home. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated, and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Zank the former Anna Dux, was born July 1, 1887, in Clark County. She was the daughter of the late
Fred and Wilhelmina (Nemitz) Dux, Sr. She had lived her entire lifetime near the present Zank farm. She was married in Neillsville October 16, 1907, to Otto Zank, who died in 1937.

She is survived by five sons, Art, Paul, Albert, Louis and Fritz, all of rural Neillsville. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Otto (Margaret) May and Mrs. Hulda Wegner of Neillsville; and two brothers, Otto and Fred Dux, Jr., of Neillsville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Zank was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Pallbearers were: William C. Dux, Alfred Dux, Arthur Nemitz, August Nemitz, Carl Kessler and Earl Hanson.

St. John’s school children sang, “I’m But a Stranger Here” and “Abide with Me, O Dearest Jesus.” They were accompanied by Victor Lehmann.

People from away here for the service included: Mr. and Mrs. Lester May, Miss Laverne and Carrall Zank and LaVerne May, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Clarence DeCremer of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. F. Suckow of Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Walter May of Milwaukee.
