Miss Peggy Hendricks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hendricks, became the bride of Ronald Benzschawel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Benzschawel Sr., on Saturday, Aug. 24th, 1963 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp. Father Brockman performed the ten o’clock double ring ceremony and the senior choir sang the Nuptial High Mass.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of Peau file with chapel train styled with long tapered sleeves, lace scalloped neckline and bodice of pearls and lace. Her skirt featured picked up sections with roses. Her headpiece of petal edged in pearls held her buffle bouffant veil and she carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses, stephanotis and ivy.

Miss Sandra Hendricks was her sister’s maid of honor and bridesmaids were Booty Zubal and Diane Mattes, friends of the bride. They wore street length dresses of silvery green crystal satin styled with scoop necklines, 3/4 length sleeves and full gathered skirts. Their headpieces were rose effect with petals and carried cascade bouquet of bronze, rust and brown mums.

Miss Penny Biddle, cousin of the bride, was flower girl, wearing a long full skirted dress of file taffeta with picke up sections with roses, scooped neckline and 3/4 length sleeves. She wore a white carnation headpiece and carried a miniature copy of the bride’s bouquet.

Reinhold Benzschawel, Norfolk, Va., was his twin brother’s best man, and groomsmen were Brian Hendricks of Annapolis, Md., and Roger Hendricks, Eau Claire, brothers of the bride. Bruce Gulcynski, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

A inner and reception for 400 guests were held at St. Bernard’s dining hall and a dance was held at the American Legion hall.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the enw couple will live at 135 Wildwood, White Bear Lake, Minn., where the groom is a Sales manager with the Cory Co.
