Lust, Vernon E. (1 February 1928 - 5 September 2012) With Flag

Vernon E. Lust, age 84, of Altoona, WI, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at his home.

A graveside memorial service was held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN on Tuesday, September 11 at 10:30 a.m.

Vernon was born February 1, 1928, in Hoisington, Kansas. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1944 at the age of 16. He served in the Pacific area in World War II. After his retirement from the Navy in 1967, Vernon moved his family to Wisconsin, where he built a house and held various jobs, such as: purchasing agent for Liberty Homes, owned a grocery convenience store, shoe store, and operated a sewing machine sales and repair store.

Vernon is lovingly survived by his children: Marilyn (Ken) Reid of Douglas, GA, Brenda (Ed) Turnquist of Boyd, WI, John (Sally) Lust of Reading, PA, Bonnie (Rob) Aarsvold of Mound, MN, and Peter (Chris) Lust of Chippewa Falls; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, in 1993; Wife, Agnes, in 2012; and grandson, Greg Lust, in 2006.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona, is serving the family.
