Greschner, John S. Jr. (4 DEC 1924 - 1 SEP 2012)
John
S. Greschner Jr. 87, of Owen passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at his
residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church in Owen on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Father Keith
Kitzhaber will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 9:30 AM
until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in
the Town of Hixon.
John was born December 4, 1924 to John S. and Adele
(Krabes) Greschner Sr. in Almena, WI. He attended Redville grade school and was
a graduate of Withee High School. His marriage to Lucille Sluzewski took place
on August 28, 1951 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen and they were married
for 61 years. Together they farmed in the Town of Green Grove until their
retirement and continued to reside on the home farm.
Besides farming John
enjoyed sports, including the Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and the Saint Louis
Cardinals.
He was a lifetime member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
John is survived by his loving wife; Lucille Greschner of Owen,
children; Tom (Cheri) Greschner of Owen, Mary Greschner of Marshfield and Judy
Knuth of Mosinee, his grandchildren: Kelly and Laura and his great grandson;
Liam.
John is preceded in death by his parents, brother; J. Stanley
Greschner and grand-daughter; Hailey Greschner.
