Welch, Eleanor (06 Sept. 1933-15 JUNE 2012)

Eleanor M. Welch 78, Moorcroft, Wyo., formerly of Loyal, died on Friday, June 15, 2012, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, after a bout with cancer.

Eleanor Martina Shefchik was born on Sept. 6, 1933. in Loyal. to Emil and Hildegard Shefchik. She grew up on a dairy farm near Loyal, with six brothers and three sisters. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1951, and shortly after moved to Milwaukee where she worked for the Harnischfeger Corporation as a secretary. After two years in Milwaukee, she moved to San Bernadino, Calif. and worked at Fontana High School for several years. She married Jack Welch on March on March 7, 1959. They moved to Las Vegas, Nev. In 1963 and raised four children until moving to Loyal in 1972. They moved to Moorcroft in 1975, and resided there until her death. She enjoyed camping, exploring, cooking, bowling, and playing bingo.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; four children, Dan (Robin) Welch, Gilbert, Ariz., Fred Welch, Gillette, Mont., Margaret (Steve) Boger, Midland, Texas, and Barbara (Todd) Bouley, Rawlins, Mont,; four brothers, Richard (Diann) Shefchik, Edward Shefchik, Raymond (Ruth) Shekchik, and Emil Jr. (Sue) Shefchik; three sisters, Angie (Daryl Wendt) Gregory; Jen (Larry) Menehan, and Joan (Dave) Abbott; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Elmer Shekchik and Larry Shefchik.
