Loberg, Erick K. (4 February 1881 - 1 February 1967)

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Erick K. Loberg, 85, of Memorial Home, who died February 1 in Neillsville. The Rev. Carl Booher, pastor of the Greenwood Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Loberg was born February 4, 1881, in Norway. He attended school there, coming to the United States with his sister and brother-in-law. The family located in Minnesota. On November 1, 1905, he was married in Green County to the former Lenora Robb, who died in 1943. They operated a grocery store and harness shop in (blotch). In 1914 the Loberg family came to Clark County and settled on a farm near Christie, which is now operated by a grandson.

Mr. Loberg retired from farming in 1949 and since then has spent the summers in Jim Falls and the winters in Christie. In 1964, he became a resident of Memorial Home in Neillsville.

He is survived by four children: Kenneth Loberg of Neillsville, Mrs. George (Flossie) Younker of Sante Fe Springs, Cal., Clayton Loberg of Appleton, and Mrs. Mike (Vera) McCray of Libertyville, Ill. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Marie Grannum of Spring Valley, Minn.; a brother, Andrew Loberg of Albert Lea, Minn.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Fred Buchholz, Lee Mills, Henry Harder, Herman Hediger, Pete Boon and Lisle Armitage.

“Abide with Me” and “Jesus Lover of MY Soul” were sung by Wilfred B. Galstad, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
