Funeral Services for Chas. Oelrich May 2

Passes Away at Town of Brighton Home Wednesday Afternoon of Last Week from Lingering Illness.

 

Charles Oelrich, aged 60 years, a resident of the town of Brighton for over half a century, died at his farm home Wednesday afternoon of last week from a lingering illness.  He had been in ill health for the past year.  The body was brought to the Swarthout Funeral Home in Spencer, where services were held at 1:20 o’clock Saturday afternoon  and at 2:00 o’clock in St. John’s Lutheran church in the town of Brighton, the Rev. H. C. Hinz, pastor of the church, in charge of the services.  Burial was made in the church cemetery.

 

Charles Oelrich was born on July 6, 1881, in Chicago, Ill., and came to the town of Brighton with his parents when he was six years of age.  He was married in 1904 to Miss Sophie Luepke and lived in this vicinity all his life.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church.

 

Surviving are his wife and the following children:  Alfred, Bernard, Mrs. Walter Neumann, Mrs. Frank Seefeld and Mrs. Arthur Huber, all of Spencer; Arnold, Miss Erna and Miss Lucille, at home.  Four brothers, Frank Oelrich, Fred Oelrich, William Oelrich, and George Oelrich of Spencer and 11 grandchildren also survive.  Two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Neumann and Mrs. Alma Dittman, preceded him in death.
