Olson, Karen J. #2 (3 JUN 1961)
St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at thorp was the scene of the wedding of Miss Karen Jean Olson and Joseph A. Koltis, daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Olson, Owen, and Mrs. Josephine Koltis, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The Rev. Francis Disher officiated at the marriage ceremony and 11 o’clock nuptial Mass on Saturday, June 3, 1961.

Appropriate music for the occasion was played as Miss Olson was presented in marriage by her father before an altar decorated with white and yellow gladioli.

She carried a white orchid on a prayer book and wore a gown of Chantilly lace fashioned with a Sabrina neckline, cap sleeves and a floor length skirt. Her veil of pure silk illusion was made in England and her crown of lace was designed with seed eparls and sequin trim.

Mrs. Helen Frinack of Thorp was in the wedding party as matron of honor and wore a blue lace over satin dress in floor length, with a jacket and matching headpiece. Her bouquet consisted of white and pink carnations.

James C. Olson of Owen attended the groom.

A dinner and reception were held in the school basement of St. Hedwig’s Church.

The bride’s cousins, Peter and Bob Johnson of Chippewa Falls were altar boys at the Nuptial Mass.

The bride’s mother wore a blue lace dress with white accessories. The groom’s mother wore a blue dress with white accessories and each wore a corsage of white and pink carnations.

The young couple will make their home in Thorp after a wedding trip through northern areas.
