Willie Bealer had a *barn raising Monday.

 

Otto Gaulky returned home from Milwaukee Monday where he has had employment the last couple of months.

 

John Lindow hauled logs for Art Lindow Saturday.

 

Biling sap, talking war, building high school is the order of the day.

 

School in District No. 6 opened after a week’s vacation.

 

The Y.P.A. of the Evangelical association will hold the short Easter program Sunday evening.  Everybody is invited.

 

Miss Abbie Lindow spent Sunday under the parental roof.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Meisner, Mrs. Emil Lindow and daughter Gertrude were pleasant callers at Chili Tuesday.

 

Orville Dankemyer and Walter Lindow spent Sunday with Amos Lindow in the sugar bush.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lindow spent Sunday afternoon at Mrs. L. Schilling’s.

 

Mrs. Chas. Albrecht and two daughters spent Sunday with Mrs. Otto Gaulky.

 

Miss Hilda Ehrhardt spent Sunday at B. Drescher’s.

 

Beefsteak, pork steak, huckleberry pies, Chili, Chili has gone dry.

 

  

 

*The above photo was taken on a Clark County, Wisconsin area farm in 1910.  Several neighboring farmers joined in the “barn raising” task after the first floor of mortar and stone was completed.  The loft framework of beams was put in place to be followed by several roofing rafters, which were raised and set up in place by men pulling the ropes that were attached to the rafters.  They helped one another in such tasks, donating their time and efforts, being good neighbors by doing a favor that was returned in one way or another.
