Lindgren, Cala Dawn (Marriage - 11 June 1966)

Miss Cala Dawn Lindgren of Deerfield, Ill, daughter of Mrs. Vaner Lindgren of Owen, and Kenneth H. Frey of Oswego, Ill. son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frey of Owen, exchanged vows in a nuptial ceremony Saturday in candlelight service in the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Owen. The Rev. Arvold Woodring performed the double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with candelabra, potted ferns and two large baskets of pink, white and yellow gladioli.  Leroy Stabnow of Kelso, Wash., gave his niece in marriage.

For her wedding the bride chose a floor length gown of white satin, styled with a chapel train. The fitted bodice featured appliquéd roses and seed pearls at the neckline, waist and front of the skirt.  Long, tapered sleeves enhanced the bodice.  An imported veil of silk illusion was secured to a handmade crown of pearl leaves and flowers.  She carried a white Bible, topped with a bouquet of stephanotis and centered with a white orchid with streamers cascading from the stephanotis.

Miss Kathy Frey of Evanston, Ill., was her maid of honor.  Her bridesmaid was Miss Mary Ann McDowell of La Crosse. Lisa Besnett, niece of the bride was flower girl.  The attendants wore identical powder blue dresses of sheer nylon over taffeta. The floor length gowns featured bell skirts and Empire waistlines, with small accenting bows in front, and a nylon pompon was attached to the waist in the back of each gown.  They wore small net crown headpieces with veils of powder blue.  Each carried a fan of white lace, on which was a corsage of pink sweetheart roses and carnations.

Keith Frey of Oswego, Ill., was his brother’s best man. Groomsman was Peter Lindgren of Owen.  Ushers were Rohland Frey of Williams Bay, and Jerry Lindgren of Withee.  James Lindgren, of Minneapolis, nephew of the bride, carried the rings, on a heart-shaped white satin pillow.

Mr. and Mrs. Frey left following the wedding reception on a wedding trip into northern Wisconsin. On their return they will reside in Oswego, Ill., where the groom is employed by a tractor company.  Mrs. Frey has had employment in a Deerfield bakery.  Both are graduates of Owen High School.
