Mrs. Jake Hoffman has another attack of appendicitis and is quite sick.  She was taken to the Marshfield hospital Tuesday afternoon on the 2 o’clock train.

The Conner Lumber Co. has a man here now to take charge of the new yard.  The man rented the house of Wm. Neinas and moved his household goods into it.

Ferd Chitwood loaded his household goods, machinery and three horses on a car Monday to be sent to Richland County.  Ferd himself and family took the 11 o’clock train for the same place.  Earl Fraser went along with the car to look after the horses.

A.W. Wendorf is getting ready to move his house onto the lot purchased of Fred Selk.

In another week we will probably know whether our country is going into war or not.  It seems so simple when you write it down on paper.  Nobody can really realize what it means until the waves of actual conflict have reached us.  Still, it may possibly be avoided, at least most of us hope that it will be possible, even in consideration of the honor of our country.

All those who will want to get dynamite through the Wis. Advancement at carload rate price, which means a saving of about 5 cents a pound, should put in their orders at the Chili State Bank or H. Degener’s within the next 10 or 14 days.

The Chili School District No. 7 held two meetings this week in regard to building a new schoolhouse.  The next meeting will probably bring a decision as to what will be done.
