Graikowski, Mary Ann (10 SEP 1960)

Miss Mary Ann Graikowski became the bride of Justin J. Jakowicz on Saturday, Sept. 10, 1960 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp.  Father Disher performed the ten a.m. double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are John T. and Anna Graikowski and Mr. and Mrs. Justin G. Jakowicz.

The bride, given in marriage by her uncle Stanley c. Nowak, wore a floor length gown of embroidered Bombazine featuring a chapel length train and styled with a scooped neckline.  The bodice of her dress was decorated with seed pearls and sequins.  Her full skirt had a lace insert in the front and two lace inserts in the back.  Her elbow length veil of silk illusion was held with a crystal crown.

Miss Patricia Lato, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaid was Miss Joann Harycki, also a friend of the bride.  They wore  street length dresses of white nylon lace and turquoise cummerbunds styled with scoop neckline, short sleeves and a large bow in back.  Their hedpaieces were turquoise net over tiny crowns trimmed with seed pearls.

Bernard Dobrzynski, a friend of the groom, was best man.  Ushers were Donald and Robert Rogalski, cousins of the bride.

A breakfast for the immediate family was held at St. Hedwig’s Hall and a supper at 5:30 was held there also for all the guests.

The bride and groom’s mothers both wore blue nylon lace dresses and each wore a corsage of white rosebuds.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin the couple will make their home in Thorp where the groom is employed at the Ace Oil Co.
