Asselin, Evelyn M. (21 Aug 1924 - 10 Mar 1928)

On Thursday last two small children, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Asselin, were taken ill suddenly. Doctors were called to determine the cause, but the children grew worse and Evelyn May, born Aug. 21, 1924, was taken to the hospital at Marshfield on Sunday morning, where she died about 9:30 a.m., and spinal meningitis named as the cause. The body was brought here (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) by undertaker J. G. Bogumill to his undertaking parlors and was buried in the Thorp Village Cemetery. On Monday afternoon. Little Amy, the other daughter ill, was also taken to the hospital at Marshfield on Sunday afternoon and is reported that conditions are hopeful for her recovery. Her age is sixteen months. Three other children in the same family, all boys, have shown no symptoms of illness.

The parents have the sincere sympathy of the community in their sudden great affliction.
