John E. Noyes

Greenwood, Clark Co., Wisconsin

 

John's father, Joseph Noyes was born about 1833.  When the great Civil War broke out, he joined the Union Army and fought with the Y Battalion of the 1st Minnesota regiment.  In 1870, he married Alzina "Lucy" Braman who was born in Ohio in April of 1849.  John was one of their four children.   In 1879, his widow, Lucy, married Albert Hartson.  John served as the editor of the Greenwood Gleaner at one time.

John and Harriet's infant son died when he was just 2 days old, January 22, 1907.  He is buried in the Greenwood City Cemetery.
