Sischo, Devere (1923 - 1982)


Devere (Pete) Sischo, 58, of Route 4, Neillsville, Town of Pine Valley, Clark County, was pronounce dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, on Saturday, March 20, 1982.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, at Zion American Lutheran Church, Pine Valley. Officiating was Rev. Maynard Stokka. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Devere Sischo was born to Roy and Jennie (nee Holt) Sischo on Aug. 27, 1923, in the Town of Weston. He was educated at Weston Schools. He warmed with his parents for several years, and was also employed for a time as a milk hauler.

He married Alice Strangfeld in the Town of Pine Valley on Nov. 4, 1945. They farmed near the Neillsville Mounds. He was also employed by Boon Brothers Construction for many years.

He was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church of Pine Valley.
Surviving him are his wife, Alice three daughters, Mrs. Allen (Vicki) Sischo-Steffen of Greenwood and Janis and Judy, both of Neillsville two sons, Terry and Dennis, both of Neillsville one sister, Mrs. W.E. (Bernice) Priebe of Sunnyvale, Cal. and five grandchildren.

Providing musical selections were Robert Mitte, soloist and Virginia Karnitz, accompanist. Pallbearers were Ronald Henning, Donald Harris, Keith Durham, William Strangfeld, Ronald Ormond, and Donald boon. Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, handled arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his parents one brother, Lyle and two sisters, Ione and Iva.
