Schmidt, Allie (1897 - 1981)


Allie Schmidt, 84, of Route 2, Loyal, Town of York, Clark County, died at 6:45 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, 1981, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Services were at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. James Logan officiated and interment was in the parish cemetery.


A 3:15 p.m., P.C.C.W. Rosary and an 8 p.m. Prayer Service were conducted on Tuesday evening, Oct. 27.


Allie Schmidt was born on Oct. 8, 1897, in the Town of York to Joseph and Mary (nee Pompo) Schmidt. He received his education at Pleasantville School and St. Anthony's School.


He was married to Margaret Schwellenbach on Oct. 25, 1927, at St. Mary's Neillsville. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1977.
He did carpenter work and farmed in the Town of York until 1966, but continued making his home there.


He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.


Surviving him are his wife, Margaret three sons, Lawrence of Milwaukee, James of Tomah and dale of Loyal two daughters, Miss Lucille Schmidt of Loyal and Mrs. Gene (Irene) Fischer of Milwaukee two brothers, Edward of Loyal and George of Marshfield two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Adler of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ray (Margaret) Horn of Loyal and six grandchildren.


Serving as pallbearers were Jerome Wehe, Donald Schmidt, William Horn, Robert Schmidt, Eugene Schmidt and Bernard Schmidt. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.
