ERVIN SCHMIDT
 

Ervin Schmidt, 81, Loyal, Clark County, died Sunday March 14, 1993, at his home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 1993, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Joseph R. Kraly officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Schmidt, Chad Schmidt, Jay Stump, Charles Florence, Harold Dahl, and Kenneth Hium.


Ervin Schmidt was born Aug. 21, 1911, in Clark County, to Arno and Pauline (nee Wehrman) Schmidt. He received his education in rural Clark County schools. He married Verna Litka Nov. 7, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death Aug. 6, 1991. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1986. They farmed in the Town of Beaver. He also worked part-time for the Town of Beaver. They moved into the City of Loyal in May of 1965, and he worked for the Loyal Canning Co. for four years. He then worked for the Town of Loyal until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.


Survivors include two sons, Norman and Kenneth Schmidt, both of Loyal three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
