Lau, Duane (1932 - 1980)


Duane Kenneth Lau, 47, of Route 3, Greenwood, Clark County, died at 6:50 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 1980 of cancer at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thorp at 3 p.m., Friday, March 14. Officiating was Rev. Robert Olson and interment was in the Riverside Cemetery.


Duane Lau was born on April 15, 1932 in Arlington, Iowa and received his education in Stanley, Iowa.


He was married to Donna Gray on June 3, 1956 in Fayette, Iowa.


After his marriage he moved to Rockford, Ill., where he worked for Sundstrand Aviation Co. for 13 yeas and then in 1967 he moved to Fayette where they farmed until 1972. They moved to Hawkeye, Iowa where they resided for three years. They then moved to Athens and farmed for one year before returning to Iowa for one year. He had been living in Greenwood since 1977.


Surviving him are three sons, Lawrence of Greenwood, Kenneth of Greenwood and James at home two daughters, Mrs. Barbara (Marvin) Imig of Wausau and Geri Ann at home his brothers and sisters, Darrel of Oelivein, Iowa Ronald of Denver, Iowa Mrs. Leon (Dorothy) Grosburth of Ranalla, Iowa Lyle of Waterloo, Iowa Virgil of Long Beach, Calif. Roland of Fayette, Iowa, Yvo of Fayette, Iowa and Mrs. Ronald (Delores) Kaiser of Aurora, Iowa and his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Clarence Lau, Sr.


He was predeceased by one sister, Leolia.


Serving as pallbearers were John Wagner, Louis Kunkel, Jerry Haryiki, Dwight Huckman, Larry Barringer and Dennis Owens.


Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, was in charge of arrangements.
