Raik, Louie (1911 - 1980)


Louie Raik, son of Frank and Antonia (Primc) Raik, passed away March 1, 1980 at 5:30 a.m. at the Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.


He was born May 26, 1911 at Sheboygan, Wis., and came to the Greenwood, Clark County area in 1920 and lived on a farm northwest of Greenwood. He received his education in the Decker School. As a young man he spent several years in the Merchant Marines, then lived in Chicago for a number of years. He came back to this area in 1954 and moved to Willard. He was in ill health for 12 years and spent the past seven years in the Memorial Nursing Home following a stroke. He was never married.


Funeral services were held at the Rinka Funeral Home Tuesday, March 4 at 1 o'clock with Pastor Dan Adams of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating.


Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


During the services music was provided by Jeff, Jane and Jerry Voss of Christie.


Louie is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Josephine ) Peterson of Greenwood and one brother, Joe of Superior. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.


Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
