Zupanc, Tony (1914 - 1980)


Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 26 for Tony Zupanc, Loyal, Clark County businessman. Mr. Zupanc, 65, passed away at 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 1980 at the Neillsville Hospital.


Services were conducted at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Chester Osowski officiating. Burial was in the Holy Family Cemetery, Willard. Pallbearers were Darwin Graves, Glen Zilk, Alvin Dahl, Harold Nowak, Albert Wehrman and LaVern Spuhter.


A PCCW Rosary was held Monday afternoon and a prayer service was held Monday evening at the Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal.
Mr. Zupanc was born May 5, 1914, the son of Frank and Mary Zupanc at Willard.


He was educated in the Willard School. He was married on Feb. 19, 1952 to Berne Podobnik at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal.


Mr. Zupanc operated a body shop after moving to Loyal and operated the Ford dealership for 26 years. At the time of his death he was owner and operator of Zupanc Bus Service.


He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was a veteran of World War II.


He is survived by his wife Berne, a daughter, Miss Terri Zupanc, Chicago, Ill. and two sons, Scott of Neillsville and Tom of Mt. Prospect, Ill.


Two brothers, Joe Zupanc, Loyal, Frank of Wis. Rapids, three sisters, Mrs. Casper (Caroline) Shober, Loyal, Mrs. Phil (Ann) Dub, Berwyn, Ill., Mrs. Mayme Gregorich, Preston, Iowa, also survive.


He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Victor.


Rinka Funeral Home of Loyal was in charge of arrangements.
