Boe, Agnes (1915 - 2001)


Agnes Boe, 85, Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Manor Care Health Services, Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 6, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery.


Agnes Krze was born on April 28, 1915, in North Chicago, Ill., to Cyril and Agnes (nee Morzovec) Krze. At the age of 13, her family moved to the Willard area where they farmed. After completing her education at the Kippenhan school, she did domestic work and helped out on the family farm. She married Amos Boe on Aug. 5, 1933. They farmed south of Greenwood until taking over her husband s home farm in 1935. She raised a family of eight children and ran the farm while her husband worked as a school teacher and later a bookkeeper for Plautz Brothers. They continued to live on the farm after their retirement in 1984. Her husband died on April 16, 1988, and she remained on the farm until moving to be near her daughter, Evelyn, in Arizona, in 1997. In August 1998, she moved to Manor Care in Waterloo, Iowa, and had resided there until her death. She enjoyed crocheting doilies, needlepoint, Jigsaw puzzles, and cats.


Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn (Edwin) Haven, Flagstaff, Ariz., Jean (Bernard) Kuehl, Grants Pass, Ore., and Janice (Ray) Bennett, Mill Creek, Wash. four sons, Jim (Donna) Boe, Phillips, Roger (Suzanne) Boe, Greenwood 17 grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren one great-great-granddaughter and two sisters, Julia Rasmussen, Eau Claire, and Mary (Lawrence) Scheuerman, Neillsville.


She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Amos and one son, Cedric, in 1965.


Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
