Fricke, Evelyn E. (1919 - 2001)


Evelyn E. Fricke, 82, Loyal, Clark County, died on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Colonial Center in Colby. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Pallbearers were Gene Beaver, Nick Beil, Patrick Langfeldt, Blaine Zager, Joe Beaver Jr. and Douglas Beaver. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery.


Evelyn Eleanor Beaver was born on June 25, 1919, in Loyal, to Frank and Kathryn (nee Flaherty) Beaver. She attended St. Balthazar s Parochial School and Loyal High School. She married Oscar M. Fricke at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. The couple resided in Eau Claire for three years and then moved to the town of Loyal, where they farmed. She assisted her husband in his excavating business until Nov. 1978, when they retired and moved into Loyal. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its PCCW. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, reading and especially time spent with her grandchildren and family.


Survivors include four children, Barbara (Alan) Langfeldt, Loyal, David (Karen) Fricke, Loyal, Mary Jo (Anthony) Mayer, Chili, and Susan (Jerry) Beil, Chili 15 grandchildren, Sandra (Gary) Gardner, Jill (John McLaucghlin, Doug (Julia) Langfeldt, Jan Langfeldt, Tami (Mitch) Adams, Patrick Langfeldt, Dana Schoonover, Kim (Doug) Roehl, Denise (Ted) Brussow, Christine Mayer, Jennifer Mayer, Samantha Mayer, Nicholas Beil, Amy Beil and Stephanie Beil 18 great-grandchildren, Eric, Jessica and Lindsey Schoonover, Sabrina, Colten and Maverick Roehl, Cameron and Quin Brussow, Candace and Lindsay Gardner, Shane and Erin McLaughlin, Erika and Jacob Langfeldt, Erik and Mark Adams, Brittany Mayer and Chase Seubert one brother, Joe Beaver, Eau Claire four sisters, Lorraine Degenhardt, Sparta, Alice Owen, Eau Claire, Mary (Robert) Schoettle, Eau Claire, and Donna Mae Zager, West Bend and four sisters-in-law, Elaine Beaver, Eau Claire, Dorothy Beaver, Eau Claire, Arwilda Loch, Minnesota, and Elsie Fricke, Spencer.


She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Gilbert Beaver and Arthur Beaver.


The Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal assisted the family with arrangements.
