OTTO KIND, SR.
 

Funeral services for Otto Kind, Sr. of 201 W. Schofield Ave., Greenwood, Clark County, were conducted at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11.


Mr. Kind died Sunday, Oct. 8, 1978 at about 2 p.m. at his home of an apparent heart attack.


Officiating at the services was Rev. David Wenger, the former pastor of Our Savior's Church. Mrs. Lil Warner was the organist.
Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.


Otto Kind was born to Gottlub and Ottelia Kind in Sheboygan County on July 25, 1899. He received his education at Curtiss School.
He was married on May 15, 1918 at Curtiss to Mable Johnson.


They farmed in Stetsonville until 1931, then moved to the Town of Warner in Greenwood and farmed until 1958, when he moved to the City of Greenwood. He then worked for the city for a number of years.


He was a member of the Benjamin School Board and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and its council. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last May.


He is survived by his wife, Mable three sons, Vernon of Mansfield, Wash., Orlando of Greenwood and Otto, Jr. of Greenwood three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Rasmussen of Marshfield, Mrs. Kenneth (Donna) Hium of Greenwood and Mrs. Elmer (Darlene) Speich of Rockford, Ill. two brothers, Edwin of New Holstein, Wis. and Adolph of Germantown, Wis. one sister, Mrs. Helen Hartwig of Milwaukee 31 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.


He was predeceased by one son, two brothers, four sisters and one great-grandson, Jesse.


Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Rasmussen, Dannie Kind, Lavern Kind, Kerry Speich, Jerry Hoffman and Franklin Kraut.
