GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY Fred J. Behrens, 70, a lifelong resident of Greenwood, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 1968, in St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, where he had been admitted on Friday.


Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grace Methodist Church here, with the Rev. Carl Booher officiating. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Wallis-Hinker Legion Post.


The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home from Tuesday afternoon until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and then at the church.
Mr. Behrens was born Feb. 21, 1897, at Greenwood, and was a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1917. His marriage to Helen Chadwick took place July 8, 1922, at Greenwood. He had served as a rural mail carrier in the Greenwood area until his retirement.


He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Wallis-Hinker Legion Post.


In addition to his wife, survivors are two sons, Douglas Behrens, Big Bend, Wis. and Thomas Behrens, Greenwood and 14 grandchildren.
