Francel, Johanna (1887 - 1952)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--The Rev. Augustine Svete will officiate at funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Holy Family Catholic church, Willard, for Mrs. Frank Francel, 65, who died unexpectedly of a stroke at her home Saturday morning. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.


The body is reposing at the Francel home.


Mrs. Francel, the former Johanna Kozar, who lived 7 miles southwest of Willard in the Town of Hendren, was born May 13, 1887, in Yugoslavia. She came to this country with her parents at an early age and settled in Ely, Minn. Her marriage to Frank Francel took place Jan. 18, 1903, in Ely.


They came to the Town of Hendren about 42 years ago, being among the earliest settlers in that area.


She is survived by her husband four sons, Frank, Marshfield Joseph, Augusta John, at home and Paul, who is stationed with the air force in Texas eight daughters, Mrs. Hannah Kokaly, Willard Mr. Frank (Agnes) Schnaitmann, Evanston, Ill. Mrs. Lambert (Mary) Butzen, Chicago Mrs. Ignatz (Frances) Koschak, Greenwood Mrs. Cyril (Theresa) Dranjc and Mrs. Tony (Pauline) Hribar, Chicago Mrs. Ludwig (Josephine) Koschak, Jacksonville, Fla. and Mrs. Frank (Hedwey) Klinke, Greenwood 23 grandchildren a sister, Mrs. Louis Perushek, and a brother, Tony Kozar, Ely, Minn.


A daughter preceded her in death.
