Emberson, Dena Gjorgen (1881 - 1952)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Funeral services for Mrs. John Emberson, 71, who died at her home Tuesday evening, July 8, 1952, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Magnus Egge will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The body is reposing at the Schiller Funeral Home. Friday noon it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the time of services.


Mrs. Emberson, the former Dena Gjorgen Albertson, a resident of this vicinity for 32 years, was born May 18, 1881, in Green County, where she received her education. Her marriage to John Emberson took place at Monroe, June 24, 1902. After their marriage they moved to Blanchardville for a few years and then to White Rock, S.D., where they reside for 14 years. In 1920 they came to Greenwood, settling on a farm.


Mrs. Emberson was a member of the Good Hope Ladies Aid Society. Her husband died in 1937.


She is survived by a son, Vilas, Greenwood three daughters, Mrs. David (Naomi) Danielson and Mrs. John E. (Ragnhild) Wuethrich, Greenwood and Mrs. Erling (Eulilla) Nelson, Barron seven grandchildren a sister, Mrs. Martin Johnson, Blanchardville, and two brothers, Amund, Douglas, N.D. and Carl, Blanchardville.


A son, a brother, and two sisters preceded her in death.
