Mathison, Albert (1877 - 1961)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Albert Mathison, 84, a lifelong resident of Greenwood, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 27, 1961 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Grace Methodist Church here. The Rev. Gene Carlson will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Thursday, when the body will be taken to the church.


Mr. Mathison was born Jan. 21, 1877, in Greenwood. After the death of his mother, who died in 1936 at the age of 100, he and his sister, Annie, continued to live on the family farm located southwest of here. They retired in 1944 and moved to the city to make their home with another brother, Henry. Following his death in Sept. 1955, they entered the Clark County Home for the Aged.


He is survived by a nephew, Chester Mathison of Wauwatosa, and several nieces and nephews in Oregon.


He was also preceded in death by his father in 1907, his sisters, Annie and Mary, and two other brothers, John and Ben.
