MICHAEL BOLF


Michael (Mike) Bolf, 75, Route 3, Greenwood, Clark County, died Friday, March 3, 1989 at 6:15 p.m. at his home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood the body will be cremated. Rev. John Tschudy of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood, officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Horn, Bernard Walker, Jim Bolf, Jim Seliskar, Roger Ashbeck and Ed Gregorich.


Michael Bolf was born Sept. 11, 1913 in Gallup, N.M. to Matt and Katherine (nee Briski) Bolf. He attended rural schools in New Mexico. He came to Wisconsin at 18 and worked for a CCC camp for two years. He was employed as a cheesemaker at Pleasant Ridge Cheese, Greenwood Coop, and Ashbeck Cheese Factory from 1936 until 1985, when he retired.


On June 21, 1941, he and Meta Franz were married in Greenwood. She survives.


Other survivors include two sons, Roger and Dennis of Greenwood; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Linda) Walker of Neillsville; two brothers, Matt and John of Chicago; four sisters, Mrs. William (Mary) Mickett, Thorp; Mrs. Robert (Katherine) Becker, Minnesota Mrs. Harry (Ann) Nalezny, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. William (Dolores) Benzschawel, Owen; and five grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.


Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, handled funeral arrangements.
