CARL FITZL


Funeral services for Carl A. Fitzl, 57, of Route 1, Loyal, Clark County, were conducted by Father Chester Osowski at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal.


Carl A. Fitzl passed away at about 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 1978, at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, after being stricken with an apparent heart attack at his home.


Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Greenwood. Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Carl Fitzl was born to Anton and Fern Fitzl on July 23, 1920 at Stanley. He received his education at rural Thorp schools.


He was married on Nov. 24, 1945 at Chicago to Marian Herschman. They lived in Illinois from 1930 until 1959, when they moved to the Town of Beaver, where he farmed until his death.


Surviving him are his wife, Marian three brothers, John and George of Route 2, Greenwood and Robert of Woodstock, Ill. and one sister, Mrs. Hans (Irene) Johnson of Salem, Mo.


Serving as pallbearers were Milton Fitzl, Richard Fitzl, Kenneth Fitzl, Donald Buss, Robert Fitzl, Jr. and David Fitzl, all nephews.


A prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
