JOHN POPOVICH


Greenwood--Services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Greenwood for John Popovich Sr., 87, of Greenwood, Clark County, who died Friday, July 17, 1970 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, where he had been admitted July 10. He had been in ill health for the past several years.


The Rev. Leander Koopman, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Visitations may be made at the Hill Funeral.


Mr. Popovich was born in Yugoslavia April 1, 1883, and came to the United States in 1902, settling at Calumet, Mich. He was married Jan. 6, 1923, at Duluth, Minn., to Katherine Savor. After their marriage the couple farmed at Willard until 1941, when they moved to Chicago. In 1956 they moved to Greenwood.


Survivors include his wife a daughter, Mrs. John (Angleine) Korenschan, Chicago three sons, John, Frank and Joe Popovich, all of Chicago seven grandchildren two great-grandchildren a sister, Mrs. Martha Yansek, Youngstown, Ohio.
