FORMER AREA RESIDENT DIES


Greenwood--Services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. the same day at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard for a former Willard resident, Mrs. Johana Artac, 81, Milwaukee, who died Friday evening at a Milwaukee hospital.


The Rev. Michael Mertens, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Visitations may be made at the Hill Funeral Home, where the general rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. today (Tuesday)


The former Johana Lusina was born Nov. 15, 1888 in Yugoslavia. At the age of 18 she came to the United States and settled at Waukegan, Ill., where she was married on May 5, 1907, to Michael Artac, who preceded her in death March 26, 1965. The couple came to Willard, Clark County in 1910 and farmed there until 1949. For the past three years she lived with her daughter, Jennie, in Milwaukee.


She is survived by two daughters, Jennie Artac and Mrs. Ernest (Emily) Haug, both of Milwaukee two sons, Frank, Greenwood Ludwig, Willard, grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Antonia Merlac, Sterling, Ill.


She was also preceded in death by a daughter.
