ANTON WIRKUTY


Funeral rites were at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Sept 23, at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Anton J. Wirkuty, 91, Route 1, Neillsville, Clark County, who died Sept 20, 1977.


The Rev. William A. Noble, pastor of United Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Neillsville Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Tony Schecklman, Ray Aga, Stanley Morris, Frank Yuzapavik, Henry Blood and Edward Kamieski.


Mrs. Iris Musil was organist.

Wirkuty, Anton J. (2 May 1886 – 20 September 1977)

Funeral services are to be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Anton J. Wirkuty, 91, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died September 20, in Neillsville following a lingering illness. The Rev. William Noble of the United Methodist Church will officiate, and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. today (Thursday) and Friday morning until time of services.

Anton Wirkuty was born May 2, 1886, in Lithuania and received part of his education there. He came to the United States as a young man and completed his education. His marriage to the former May E. Blood took place October 20, 1931, in Illinois. Mr. Wirkuty farmed for a time in the Plainfield area and moved to the Town of York in 1941, farming there until his death.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four children, Walter Wirkuty of Brownsville, Or., Leland Wirkuty of Racine, Alvin Wirkuty of Waukesha and Harold Wirkuty of Neillsville, and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers and two grandchildren
