OBITUARY OF ALBERT MARQUARDT


Albert Marquardt
, son of Louise and Ferdinand Marquardt, was born in the Township of Colby, Clark County, on March 9, 1875.
He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Klure in 1898 and lived in the Town of Colby for six years and then operated a hotel in Curtiss for six years. The next six years were spent in Seattle, Wash., and he then spent time in San Francisco. In 1917 he came to Green Grove Township, where he operated his father's farm.


To this union were born two children, a son, Harry, and a daughter, Doris, who resides in Chicago. Harry passed away in 1906 and Mrs. Marquardt died in 1927.


After his wife's death he came to Greenwood and made his home with his sister, Mrs. Martha Meinholdt, until 1934 when he went to Owen to live.


Mr. Marquardt passed away at the home of his brother, Charles, at Owen, Friday afternoon, Feb.. 23, 1940, at 3:00 o'clock, of pneumonia, after a ten day illness.


Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Green Grove Lutheran Church. Rev. M.C. Goetsch officiated, with burial in the parish cemetery.


He is survived by one daughter, Doris of Chicago, five brothers, Chas. of Owen, Herman of Marathon, Fred of Athens, Frank of Edgar, and Benjamin of Owen. Four sisters also survive, they are Mrs. Julius Kobs, Chicago, Mrs. Martha Meinholdt, Greenwood, Mrs. Geordge Tessmer, Colby, and Mrs. Jesse Hill, Chicago, also many nieces and nephews.


Preceding him in death were his wife, his mother and father, two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Krueger, Chicago and Mrs. Charles Huhn, Colby.
