FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT LOYAL


Asa A Duell was born in Warrensburg, N.Y. on May 12, 1862 and was married there to Miss Ida Wheeler in 1881. Three children were born while they lived in New York. One child passed away in New York and the other two shortly after coming to Wisconsin.


When Mr. and Mrs. Duell came to Wisconsin, they settled near Christie, Clark County, where four children were born. They are Mrs. L. J. (Hazel) Heck, Fond du Lac Frank Duell, Loyal George Duell, Thorp and Mrs. Victor (Anita) Lindberg, Ashland. The family later moved to Greenwood, where they resided and where in Feb. 1911, Mrs. Duell passed away.


Mr. Duell and family then moved to Loyal and on Sept. 13, 1916 he was united in marriage to Harriet Barnett of Loyal, at Marshfield. The family has resided in Loyal ever since.


Mr. Duell has been in ill health for the past two years and passed away at 11:00 o'clock Thursday evening, Aug. 10, 1939. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the Nichols Funeral Home at Loyal, Rev. Orlando Jewell officiated. He was laid to rest in the Christie Cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and one brother, Bert Duell of Diamond Point, N.Y.
